Zermatt, Switzerland

Skiing has been my favorite sport for as long as I can remember. My dad started taking me skiing when I was 2. It has always been my favorite part of Winter, but I guess now Summer. This past Summer I visited Switzerland and while there, I was able to hit the slopes in Zermatt. I had to take multiple lifts and gondolas to get up to the parts of the mountains that could be skied on in the Summer, but it was definitely worth it. The snow was great and it was a nice break from the constant heat of Summer, to be able to breathe in fresh, chilly air. One of the cool things about Zermatt is that it is a no car zone. So, we had to take an electric car from the entrance of the resort to our hotel. This was a definitely a unique life I had never experienced before.

Sardinia, Italy

Italy is always a good idea. I had been to Italy twice before, and have always had an amazing time. This time, however, was special because I got to spend ten days on an island. Sardinia is an Italian island on the Mediterranean. It has a slight tropical vibe, which is an interesting cross with the Italian culture there. My family and I took a flight from Milan to Olbia, which is a beautiful coastal city in Sardinia, and where we stayed for the majority of our vacation. Once there, I was eager to go to the beaches, as just the day before I was in Zermatt skiing. We rented a car and drove to one of the many beaches in Costa Smeralda. My favorite thing to do here, was to take a boat out to visit the La Maddalena islands. Boating is a popular activity hear, as the water gets extremely beautiful deeper in the sea. Besides the beach, the food was definitely awesome. The selection of Italian seafood was endless. I definitely plan on returning in the near future.

Annecy, France

A few years ago, I came across a picture of Annecy, France on Pinterest. I thought, what a cute town, never thinking I would actually one day visit this small town in Southeastern France. Once arriving, I felt very content. There aren’t too many tourists and the well-preserved historic streets made me feel like I was in a fairytale book. Although I wasn’t here too long, only a few days, I really felt like I was able to soak in as much of the culture in Annecy. The food was delicious mix between traditional French and Swiss food, as Annecy used to be owned by Switzerland. Additionally, aside from the center town, the famous Lac du Annecy is only a few miles away. There, I was able to enjoy paddle boarding on a crystal clear lake and paragliding on top of the alps.img_2253.jpegimg_2326.jpeg
I hope to return when I’m older and maybe stay for a longer time, to just be able to relax.
